- I began working in the field of sustainable community development in the early 1990s and consulted for local, national & international NGOs as well as for the U.S. Agency for International Development. I have always believed that it is important to be involved in some way at all levels: local, national and global. I have been trained in permaculture, intensive organic gardening, natural building, rural community development and fundraising. More recently I have been involved in developing sustainable business models for companies in the natural products industry. I have also played a role in founding and serving on the board of a local cooperative food store.
